OGDEN - Gary Ray Stokes, 83, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 in Draper, Utah.\nHe was born on October 30, 1934 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of George Raymond and Ina Elvira Egbert Stokes.\nHe graduated from Davis High School, Weber State College, Colorado State and DACT.\nGary was a member of the LDS Church.\nHe worked at the Ogden Standard Examiner News for 18 years and Thiokol missile program and engineering for 8 years.\nGary enjoyed horse racing, rodeo and all sports.\nSurviving are five children, Kim (Sue) Whiting; Robin (Jim) King;\nCindy (Kim) Treasure; Troy Morley; Scott Stokes; one step son Doug Smith; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Loretta (Ken) Hill; J.D. (Terrie) Stokes.\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, and one step daughter, Christine Smith.\nGraveside services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Brigham City Cemetery, 495 East 500 South.
