Our devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Edward Rex Sleight, 80, passed away at his home, December 5, 2018. He was born November 21, 1938, in Montpelier, Idaho to Seymour George Sleight and Orletta Annette Peterson. He was raised in Paris Idaho, and Bountiful Utah.\nOn February 12, 1968, Edward married Lois Aullman in Salt Lake City, Utah.\nEdward retired as a Master Sergeant after serving in the U.S. Army for 22 years. He also retired from Thiokol after 16 years. As a longtime resident of Brigham City, he enjoyed many friendships, but most of all, he loved spending time with the joy of his life, his family.\nEdward is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Eric Sleight, and Monte (Melanie) Sleight, two daughters, Jannette (Dustin) Henrie, and Kayleen Wintle, one daughter-in-law, Robyn Sleight, 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Kenneth Sleight, and one sister, Gayle Copes.\nHe was preceded in death by his son Evan Sleight, his parents, one sister, Maxine Farrer, and three brothers, Eldon (Ray) Sleight, Weldon (Roy) Sleight, and Frank Sleight.\nServices will be on Saturday December 8, 2018, with a viewing at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E 200 S, Brigham City, from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held at the Brigham Cemetery at 12:30 P.M., followed by a luncheon at the Box Elder Stake Center, 420 S. 800 W. at 1:00 P.M.
