Carlos Junior Burt

Our brother, uncle and friend Carlos Junior Burt was reunited with his father, Dale Harrison Burt and his mother, Frances Pearl Rhees Burt on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Ogden Regional Medical Center after a short illness.  He was the oldest of five children and leaves behind four siblings, Marilyn (Craig) Smith, Rhees (Glenna) Burt, Michelle (Rodney) Mund and Blake (Ann) Burt.

Junior, as his friends and family knew him, was a jolly soul.  He was born on February 23, 1950 in Brigham City, Utah.  He grew up in Bear River City, Utah and was a friend to all he knew.  Junior was a farm boy and spent many summers hauling hay and working for the farmers around the area.  He was active in the Boy Scouts of America.  He attended Box Elder High School where he was active in the Future Farmers of America and played football.  He was known as “Teddy Bear” because of his gentle demeanor.  He hated to tackle anyone because he might hurt them.  He graduated from Box Elder in 1968.  He served a mission in Auckland, New Zealand from 1969 to 1971 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  After his return he attended Weber State College in Ogden, Utah for brief time where he studied drafting.

In 1976, he married Patricia Ann Davis in Bear River City, Utah.  They were later divorced.

He worked at Morton Thiokol, Autoliv, Security Services at the International Airport, Harvey’s Sales and Service and other jobs around the intermountain area.

Recently his health started to decline where he found it hard to work so he found great pleasure in reading and writing.

At the time of his death he was a resident of Maple Springs Assisted Living in Brigham City.  He loved it there and loved the people that he was able to associate with.

A memorial service will be held in the Cove at Maple Springs at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Interment will be held at the Brigham City Cemetery at 11:30 am.
